Giving Tuesday Success!

On behalf of Cresthaven Academy Foundation, Cresthaven Academy Charter School, and all our scholars and their families, thank you for your incredible support during our Giving Tuesday and Season of Giving campaigns this year!

Due to the tremendous generosity of our donors, we were able to raise over $168,000 to benefit the needs of our scholars, their families, and the greater Cresthaven community. Of this $168,000, one third came directly from our supporters, one third came from a donor’s matching gift, and another third came from the combined efforts of our Board of Trustees.

The Giving Tuesday funds we raised allow CAF a new outlet in fulfilling our mission, by supporting the Cresthaven community in ways that a traditional public school cannot.

Cresthaven Academy Charter School receives only 74% of the per-pupil funding that traditional public schools receive. This funding is often heavily restricted in its areas of use and does not allow the flexibility required to make effective changes in the lives of our scholars and their families. The funds raised by CAF, however, can be used on projects that will greatly help change the odds for our Cresthaven families.

One key area of focus for the Foundation in 2022 will be adding additional, outside academic tutoring for our scholars in our signature After-School Program. It’s no surprise that we are starting to see the true effect of the Covid-19 pandemic and how remote learning negatively impacted many of our Cresthaven Scholars. To this end, the CAF After School Program Is beginning to contract several extremely talented educators to join us in setting up a high-level tutoring program for some of our scholars in need. We expect that with this additional tutoring, and extra attention outside of the school day, many of our scholars will see meaningful improvements in their educational achievements and we will quickly get our students right where they need to be. This opportunity has been made possible through the generosity of our donors during our Season of Giving and Giving Tuesday campaigns.
